I joined SKC as a faculty member in 2025, and I am the principal investigator of The Fisheries Lab in our Master of Science program. I teach Biology of Fishes, Advanced Fisheries, Restoration Ecology, and Community Ecology. My research interests are in conservation and biogeography of stream fishes, impacts of climate change on freshwater ecosystems, riverine community ecology, and stream restoration. I particularly work on nongame species (those not sought for food or sport) since they are traditionally understudied and under-conserved.
In between my undergrad and masters, I worked as a fisheries technician in Miles City for Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP). I again worked for FWP after my master's program, this time as a fisheries scientist in Kalispell. My work is strongly applied, and I always strive for my projects to provide real, tangible benefits to native fishes.
