Cody Sifford is a tribal member of the Navajo Nation, born and raised in Montana. Cody received his bachelor’s degree from Salish Kootenai College and then earned his Masters Degree at the University of Washington, School of Environmental and Forest Sciences with a focus in Forestry Resources with an emphasis in GIS. During his masters degree, Cody worked in the Center for International Trade in Forest Products (CINTRAFOR) lab where he researched methods for estimating health impacts from biomass burning using GIS models. During his college career he interned with NASA participating in GIS/remote sensing-based research and previously worked as a GIS analyst before joining Salish Kootenai College and is currently serving as the GIS instructor.
